The Athens wedding week, hour by hour
The brides who look the most at ease in their photos are almost never the ones who left everything to the morning. They planned the week. This is the timeline we use for bridal hair and makeup in Athens, from the first trial to the moment you walk out of the door.
Whether the wedding is in the city, in the northern suburbs or on the coast, the rhythm is the same. Only the travel times change.
Two to three months before: the trial
Book the trial when the dress is chosen and the hair is at the length it will be on the day. Bring photos of the dress, the venue and two or three looks you love, and one you do not. What you dislike tells us as much as what you like.
We test hair and makeup together, in daylight and in the light you will have at the venue. If the wedding is by the sea, we plan for wind and humidity from the start. Our bridal beauty on the Athens Riviera is built around exactly that.
Four weeks before: colour and skin
Any colour, toning or gloss happens now, so it settles before the day. Skin treatments that might cause redness belong here too, never in the final week. This is also the moment to confirm the schedule for the morning: how many people, in what order, and where.
The week before: the quiet things
Nails, brows and lashes, in that order, three to five days out. A private massage in Athens two or three days before is the most underrated booking of the whole wedding. It is the one hour in the week that is entirely yours.
No new products and no experiments. Everything on your skin should already have been tested. If leaving the house is the last thing you want, massage at home in Athens works just as well.
The night before
Wash your hair in the evening unless we have agreed otherwise; second-day hair holds a style better. Eat properly, drink water and pack an emergency pouch: lipstick, blotting papers, pins and a small mirror. Then go to sleep. The morning is ours.
The morning itself
A typical wedding morning starts five to six hours before you leave. Bridesmaids and mothers go first, so the bride is finished last and freshest. Hair usually comes before makeup, so nothing is disturbed once the face is done. Bridesmaids who only need a blow-dry can book a mobile hairstylist in Athens, or a mobile hairdresser on the Riviera for coastal venues.
We arrive with everything, set up near natural light and keep the room calm. One person keeps time, and it is not you. Thirty minutes before you leave, there is a final check, the dress, the photos and the touch-up kit handed to the person who will stay beside you all day.
